Not only does who was elected have inevitable consequences, but HOW the WHO were made the candidates have inevitable consequences.

I'm focusing on the DEMOCRATS for this one. Hillary was the symptom of a political attitude which was shown to be bankrupt during the 2008 Democrat Primaries in which Obama and Edwards revealed the growing dissatisfaction with symbolic gestures and moral platitudes for incremental results. Ironically and stupidly, Obama's oratorical skills were put to the last iteration of those gestures and platitudes of marginal results, except for the fortunate, special few and the incremental timidness that lagged behind cultural desires and trends of his electoral base. The utter tone-deafness of the Democrats in their getting behind Hillary for their personal political patronage, and having no other option than the Independent, Bernie Sanders, who nominally caucused with the Democrats as Hillary's counter-point revealed weak vapidness of the Democrat Party politics. Bernie Sander's mainly economic class-disparity argument, that was viewed by the Hillary voters as too abstractly intangible, compared to the patronage of self-serving special interests of 'entitlements' they were promised with gestures and moral platitudes, set the table for the electoral desertion of those who no longer saw the Democrats offering a universal rising tide lifting ALL the non-'cause celebre' boats. This set the table for Trump's rhetorical appeal.

This critique is more than about the tactics and strategy of the Democrats and the consequences of their failing short-comings. This critique is about a detached and dissociated derived logic because of a communication segregation between those who rule and those that are ruled. Much like the Trump voter, but without a voice who re-echoes their angst, the Democrat-Left voting block became and still is sub-divided among the different rhetorical venues of liberal-progressive-radical politics, which are their own spectrum of benevolent, central government paternalism to community libertarianism.

This being the social dynamic, contending with the 'Trump Enchantment', they (WE) must end our psychological trust on others' patronizing expressions of gestures and platitudes of promised beneficence, from choosing our career-work to spouses to our formal to non-formal political affinities: we must be the initiators, or face a continuation of the Trumpian 'populist-plutocrat' agenda. We do this as independent agents who act from our OWN initiative and the intuitive, voluntary, collaborative, symbiotic and synergistic efforts of others. In parallel or alternatively to the external political dynamics to the point of passive-aggressive scoff-lawing to direct resistance to create the #heightening_of_consciousness decision points of identification for those with similar sympathetic intent. From that pool of humanity, the organic dynamic of that historically-appointed person will emerge. They will embody in their actions the political means forward, culturally, from the refuse washed from this past electoral tidal surge onto our present reality.
